Fare and Conditions of Carriage
The following fare conditions apply to all bus services operated by Allgäu-Airport-Express to and from Allgäu Airport Memmingen, provided by Allgäu-Airport-Express GmbH, Frühlingstr. 2, 87719 Mindelheim (hereinafter "Allgäu-Airport-Express") or its contractual partners.
1. Tickets
Only single tickets are sold, each valid for the journey indicated on the ticket. Each valid ticket entitles the holder to occupy one seat on the booked service.
1.1 Purchase of Tickets
Tickets may be purchased from the bus driver at the stop or in advance via the internet. In addition, tickets may be obtained from authorised resellers through their respective sales channels.
The following security systems are used for online bookings: PCI certification, Verified by Visa, Mastercard Secure Code.
Upon completion of the booking by credit card or PayPal, your account will be debited immediately. Your valid credit card must not have a minimum or maximum spending limit. Only VISA or MasterCard are accepted; pre-paid or debit cards are not accepted.
1.2 Handling of Tickets
Upon boarding the bus, the ticket must be presented to the driver for inspection. The passenger must provide suitable identification. Travel documents must be available for inspection until the end of the journey. They must be kept in such a manner that inspection by Allgäu-Airport-Express staff is possible at any time.
1.3 Increased Carriage Charge
A passenger found without a valid ticket during a ticket inspection is obliged to pay an increased carriage charge amounting to double the standard fare, but no less than €60.00. In addition, a passenger without a valid ticket is obliged to provide their personal details and to present identification upon request.
1.4 Refund / Rebooking / Cancellation of Tickets
Rebookings may be made free of charge up to 24 hours before departure (no rebookings are possible less than 24 hours before departure). However, the fare for the new journey must not exceed the value of the originally booked ticket at the time of rebooking. Any difference arising from a higher original fare will not be refunded.
Cancellations may be made up to 24 hours before departure for a fee of €10.00. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure incur a fee of €15.00. Cancellations within 12 hours of departure are unfortunately not possible.
Tickets with a value of less than €17.00 per person will not be refunded.
A refund or rebooking of a ticket will only be processed if Allgäu-Airport-Express is notified in a timely manner. Refund requests received after the date of travel will not be considered.
Should you miss your booked service, please note the following:
Your ticket is valid exclusively for the booked service indicated on your ticket and is not valid for any other Allgäu-Airport-Express services. There is no legal entitlement to carriage for passengers who have missed their booked service. As a gesture of goodwill, we will nevertheless endeavour to offer you a place on one of our services. The following rules apply:
- a) Priority is given to passengers who hold a valid ticket pre-booked for the respective service.
- b) Next, passengers who missed their booked service on the same day take precedence.
- c) If seats remain available after processing passenger groups A and B, these seats are available to passengers who wish to purchase a ticket on the spot (cash payment) for that service.
1.5 Return and Refund of Tickets
Tickets cannot be returned or refunded.
2. Means of Payment
Tickets purchased from the bus driver may be paid in euros. The driver can provide change for amounts up to €50.00. Depending on availability, cashless payment methods may also be accepted.
Payment for tickets purchased online is made by credit card (VISA or MasterCard) or PayPal.
Resellers may determine their own payment methods.
3. Fares
Cash fares are based on the current prices published on the Allgäu-Airport-Express website.
4. Carriage of Children and Infants
Children aged 0–2 years travel free of charge. Children from their 3rd birthday up to 12 years of age require a child ticket. Infants without a ticket are not entitled to a seat.
5. Luggage
Each passenger may carry one piece of hand luggage in the passenger cabin and one suitcase in the luggage hold free of charge. Subject to available space, additional luggage items may be carried in the hold. A luggage receipt must be obtained from the bus driver for this purpose. The charge is based on the price list for oversized luggage.
5.1 Luggage Specifications
Hand luggage must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 × 40 × 20 cm. Hand luggage must be securely stowed in the overhead luggage rack above the seats or under the seat.
All luggage must be suitably packed, for example in suitcases, bags or other appropriate containers that can withstand normal handling during transport. Fragile items in particular must be properly packed for transport. Allgäu-Airport-Express accepts no liability for damage to fragile items. Each piece of luggage to be carried in the hold must be labelled externally with the passenger's name, address and telephone number for identification purposes.
Oversized luggage such as bicycles, skis, golf clubs etc. must be registered in advance and paid for separately. Oversized luggage is transported in the luggage hold.
The driver may refuse to transport oversized luggage that has not been registered in advance.
5.2 Pushchairs, Bicycles, Oversized Luggage
Pushchairs are classified as luggage and are subject to the aforementioned regulations.
The carriage of bicycles is at the discretion of Allgäu-Airport-Express. Arrangements must be made with Allgäu-Airport-Express in good time before departure.
5.3 Animals
Small animals kept in containers are classified as luggage and are subject to the aforementioned regulations. The carriage of larger animals that are not transported in a suitable container is not permitted. Exceptions are guide dogs for the blind and dogs of passengers who have been specifically granted permission for free carriage of a dog. The passenger remains responsible for their animal and retains custody at all times.
5.4 Dangerous and Inappropriate Luggage
Luggage must under no circumstances contain items that could pose any kind of danger to the coach, other passengers or the carrier's staff. Luggage must also not disturb other passengers by its appearance, odour or dimensions.
5.5 Right of Inspection
For security reasons, Allgäu-Airport-Express is entitled to search a passenger's luggage. In the event that a passenger refuses, Allgäu-Airport-Express is entitled to refuse the carriage of said luggage.
5.6 Right of Refusal
Allgäu-Airport-Express is entitled to refuse any luggage that does not comply with the aforementioned conditions. Should the passenger decide not to travel as a result of such refusal, Allgäu-Airport-Express cannot be held liable. The full fare remains payable.
5.7 Lost or Left-Behind Luggage, Lost Property
Left-behind luggage or other lost property will be stored by Allgäu-Airport-Express at the company headquarters for a period of one month. It may be collected there by the passenger. Forwarding or transport by bus for collection is subject to individual agreement between the passenger and Allgäu-Airport-Express. Allgäu-Airport-Express will charge a reasonable fee for this service. After the one-month period has elapsed, Allgäu-Airport-Express may use or dispose of the items as it sees fit.
Allgäu-Airport-Express will attempt to contact the passenger to inform them of the left-behind item. If the luggage does not bear the required labelling, Allgäu-Airport-Express is under no obligation to conduct further investigations. A storage charge of €2.00 per commenced day may apply. Should a passenger wish to reclaim an item, they must provide suitable proof of ownership.
5.8 Duty to Verify
The passenger undertakes to verify before departure that their luggage has been properly stowed. Upon arrival at the destination, the passenger undertakes to collect their luggage without delay. Furthermore, the passenger undertakes to check for short-notice timetable changes via the internet.
5.9 Liability
Allgäu-Airport-Express accepts no liability for theft, loss or damage to luggage that the passenger has brought on board. The passenger undertakes to watch over their hand luggage.
With regard to luggage transported in the hold, Allgäu-Airport-Express is only liable in cases of wilful intent or gross negligence. The liability of Allgäu-Airport-Express is limited to a maximum of three times the ticket price.
6. Exclusion of Claims for Compensation
Deviations from timetables up to and including service cancellations due to traffic disruptions, operational disturbances or interruptions cannot be entirely excluded by Allgäu-Airport-Express. In particular, the catching of specific flights or connections cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, no claims for compensation beyond the ticket price shall arise from timetable deviations or service cancellations. Allgäu-Airport-Express endeavours to adapt vehicle capacity to demand at all times. Should the capacity of the deployed vehicle prove insufficient in individual cases, there is no obligation to carry passengers without a prior booking.
